When asked about projects they plan to complete in 2021, homeowners of all ages said interior painting was their top choice. Outdoor upgrades, including exterior painting jobs, are also high on the list.
2. Room remodels
Bathroom remodels were the second most popular project in 2020, and interest remains strong in updating other frequently used parts of the home. In addition to a bathroom upgrade, homeowners say they’d most like to complete a kitchen renovation.
3. Flooring
As consumers opted for relatively low-cost projects, added functionality, and visual change at home in 2020, flooring updates were a great way to get all three. Flooring remains a top-requested home project — a trend expected to continue in 2021.
